With the passing of the holidays, many have stopped their baking until next year. I’m here to tell you that you don’t need to stop baking and creating because here’s a treat to last through finals and all the way to spring break and beyond. Bark is an incredibly versatile snack that can be made to accomodate people with allergies or to give as a gift.
Here’s what you’ll need:
2-3 cups milk/white/dark chocolate (chips, bars, shavings, etc.)
Toppings of your choice
Line pan with parchment paper
Melt chocolate on stovetop until thin. Be careful not to burn it. White chocolate burns faster than milk chocolate.
Pour chocolate into pan, evening out with spoon then banging a few times on the counter to remove any air bubbles. You want it to be thin.
Add toppings. This is the fun part. The possibilities are endless! Sweet, salty. Marshmallows, candy, cookie crumbles, chips, popcorn, nuts, fruit. Don’t be afraid to experiment with color and food safe dye with the white chocolate. You could make it your friend’s favorite color, or a club’s colors.
Chill in the fridge about two hours.
Peel off parchment paper and break into jagged pieces. Enjoy! Give some to a friend or your parents, top a cake with it, or melt some plain bark into hot chocolate.
